First Impressions: Monster Hunter Rise for PC

Image
I've been waiting a very long time for Monster Hunter Rise . When the game was first announced and eventually released in March of this year, it took every fiber of my being not to buy it for the Switch. The hope was that it would eventually see release on PC and be a worthy successor to World and Iceborne.  That day is nearly upon us. This week, Capcom gave us a PC release date and a playable demo.  Monster Hunter Rise  will release on January 12, 2022.  The demo is straightforward with a tutorial, singleplayer, and multiplayer components. Basic training is a great way to get reacquainted with the mechanics of the game if you haven't played in a while or just want a quick refresher. Wyvern Riding Training is an absolute must for anyone new to Rise. It goes of using the new wirebugs to mount, ride, and attack with monsters. There are three monsters to hunt for singleplayer and multiplayer: Great Izuchi, Mizutsune, and Magnamalo. There is a loadout for each of the weapon types,

Bungie Nerfs Festival of the Lost

Image
In a confusing move last night, Bungie has issued a series of nerfs designed to limited how quickly players could farm candy and Spectral Pages for the Festival of the Lost event. Spectral Pages must also be farmed in order to convert them to Manifested Pages via Haunted Sector runs.  Bungie specifically nerfed Wrathborn Hunts, Expunge missions, and the Lake of Shadows Nightfall. The changes to the Nightfall will be reverted next Tuesday when the weekly rotation occurs. The Wrathborn Hunts and Expunge missions could be completed in a matter of minutes and rewarded a healthy amoun

2021 Festival of the Lost First Impressions

Halloween is in full swing in the world of Destiny 2.  Festival of the Lost kicked off yesterday, bringing a new mode, masks, and rewards to be earned. After years of running The Haunted Forest of Mercury for the past three years, the event was becoming as stale as a popcorn ball. So, how does this year hold up? Read on for our first impressions. Beware the Headless Ones  This year, Eva Levante returns with a host of new treats, masks, and rewards to earn. Eramis, Ada-1, Taniks, Pyramid Ship, and Honkmoon join the paper mache family. Aside from earning the required candy to purchase the new masks, there is also a Book of the Forgotten to be filled out. The book tells the stories involved with this year's primary bad guys, the Headless Ones. Our ghost is taking a backseat this year and Glint is stepping in while his own guardian, Crow, sorts things out following this season's story. Glint is a fantastic addition and quite honestly, makes me wish we replace our ghost with him p
