I’m so so tired. So so tired.
The Gundam orphanage continues to grow. I managed to secure the Endless Waltz version of Wing Zero. Overall, it looks great, but the build quality leaves something to be desired. I broke one of the wings trying to connect it. What ensued was over an hour of trying to reattach it. You can’t tell from the front, but the back is a mess. On top of that, the torso is very loose. I’ve very conflicted about this figure.
What I’m Playing
So much Resident Evil Village. I beat what might be my favorite single-player game three times over this week. I mercilessly tracked down achievements and knocked them out. Only one remains and it will be a true test of my love for this game.
I fired up the PS4 again and dove back into Spider-Man Miles Morales. It’s more of the same as the first Spider-Man title on PS4, but after playing so many shooters lately, it’s a breath of fresh air. Web slinging feels great and knocking out open-world missions is relaxing.
With a friend having fallen to the sway of Elden Ring, I decided to delve back into Bloodborne. Apparently, I’ve been playing it wrong this entire time. I opted to make a new character and go with a strength build. This was apparently the secret because now I’m absolutely destroying everything. Maybe I’ll actually beat it this time.
Tabletop Simulator is a great deal more fun than I thought it would be. Though calling out Uno! is problematic online.
What I’m Watching
Everything Everywhere All at Once is an astounding achievement in film. I’ve never had a character or movie speak to me in this way before. Joy and her philosophy perfectly encapsulate my entire way of thinking. It felt incredibly good to get some sense of validation that my way of thinking isn’t alone. It was a weird sensation to realize halfway through that this is now my favorite movie of all time.
Family movie night delighted us with Turning Red. It was an overall delightful movie. I think I’ve developed a newfound appreciation for these sorts of animated movies. They’re fun and lighthearted. The animation tries something new and succeeds in spades.
Weird to think that Thor comes out in July and this is the first real look we’re seeing of it. Either way, it looks like it will be a fun ride and a return to form for Marvel.
Season four of Preacher has started much stronger than where season three meandered. But at this point, I’m ready for the ride to be over. I’m just really hoping we get some real closure and it’s not disappointing.
