Another week is in the bag! Fatty got a bike and immediately remembered how out of shape he was. Still, it was fun to put together and start riding again. Even better was the little man learning how to ride without his training wheels. That definitely made for a proud papa.

I’m still not done collecting Gundam figures and I’m already eyeing up collecting Spider-Man figures. I need serious help. I feel like a child.

What I’m Playing

It’s done! After five years of owning it, I’ve finally beaten Bloodborne. As I mentioned a few weeks back, finding out I was using the wrong build for my playstyle was a complete game-changer. I was able to power through everything except the Orphan of Kos fight in The Old Hunters expansion. That spastic fuckhead just relentlessly beat my ass. I can’t describe adequately the relief I felt as the credits rolled.

I must have been on a PS4 kick because I then rolled into Spider-Man: Miles Morales and finally beat that. I think that in the end, I enjoyed the game more than the original Spider-Man, but it still suffered from the same repetitive nature of open-world games.

World of Warcraft has been uninstalled. I simply couldn’t get into the expansion and even when I tried to go back and grind out flying in Battle for Azeroth, I remembered how much I hated that rep grind. There are too many games that are simply better and I’m not beholden to WoW any longer.

Following my victory in Bloodborne, I tried my hands at Dark Souls III. I appreciated being able to play it at 1080 and with a solid 60fps, but it felt cheap compared to Bloodborne. Enemies seemed much more aggressive, my character sluggish, and there were a lot of “gotcha” learning moments that felt staged. Looks like Bloodborne might be a one-off for me.

What I’m Watching

We finally finished Preacher and the ending was spectacularly disappointing. I’m glad it’s over but have no idea how a show that started off so good turned out to be so bad. I’m conflicted about recommending it to anyone. The first two seasons are as good as the last two are bad. Quite polarizing indeed.

The wife and I started Moon Knight and it’s absolutely solid. I haven’t watched any of the Marvel television series aside from Loki and haven’t seen a film since Spider-Man: No Way Home, so this has been a fun way to dip my toes back into the superhero waters.

Queer Eye has sucked me in. It began as just being a passive viewer while my wife watched, but I’ll be damned if I’m not a sucker for these heart-warming stories and makeovers.
