Zero Lives - 2022/05/09
My oh my. How time flies. Another week down. Not much new going on. The wife ran a half marathon and I’m super proud of her. It did feel good to get out of town for a bit, even if I slept like shit at the hotel. But enough about that, let’s get into it!
What I’m Playing
I’ve been on a fighting game binge. I nabbed Dead or Alive 6 while it was on sale and went through the story mode. It’s the same dumb soap opera stuff from the past six entries, but it’s still fun to play. It’s like the junk food of fighters. I recommend it only if you do get it on sale. Paying full price is absurd.
The wife recommended Street Fighter and it was a solid recommendation. I’ve never played Street Fighter outside of the Marvel vs Capcom series. But after working through some kinks, which turned into paying articles, I’ve been getting into it. I’ve decided to main Juri and have been spending time in the training room. I can see an improvement and am playing better, even if my win rate doesn’t reflect that. I’m hooked.
Bloodborne has crept back into my life as I have a friend working through his first playthrough. We were able to burn through the DLC last night and it was super fun. I’m on the fence about trying to platinum the game. I want it, but two of the trophies are going to be a lot of work in a mode I don’t really care for.
Destiny 2 rolled out Guardian Games. This means I spent more money than I would have liked on cosmetics. The new modes are tedious and full of grind, as Destiny events are wont to be. It looks like Warlocks are going to take it this time around.
What I’m Watching
We finished Moon Knight and it was solid. It got a bit predictable in the end and felt like it was setting up more than it could finish in the last episode, but it pulled it off. I highly recommend it. Oscar Isaac did some of his best work in this one.
I’m planning on seeing Dr. Strange later this week, but will need to prep by finishing What If…? and starting Wanda Vision.
Queer Eye continues to be a staple in our house and I’m glad there are six seasons and a spinoff to binge through.
