What a week it’s been. With releases upon releases, there’s no shortage of things to play. Even better, they’re all fantastically fun and well worth the time.

I spent the weekend helping my mom clean and reorganize her garage. I came back with a bag full of old photos and holy shit, my memory is awful. I don’t remember a lot of these things taking place. And to look at myself 20+ years ago is like looking at a stranger. It was quite surreal. But, the garage was cleaned out and organized and my son got some quality time with memaw and her fish. Side note: it looks like I’ll need to invest in a fish tank in the near future.

My wife’s expansion of the garden has been going well. It was definitely a rough start, but she’s been plugging away at it and it’s really taking shape. I’m excited to see what it looks like when it’s totally finished.

What I’m Playing

So much Destiny 2 and Forza Horizon 5.

Solstice has returned to Destiny 2. The entire event has been reworked and there is new armor, a new hand cannon, and a new title to acquire. Despite writing a lot about it, I haven’t had much time to play the actual content. I’m hoping to change that this weekend and get it knocked out. From what I’ve seen online, it should be doable. Plus, my boy wants to play it more, which is always exciting.

Forza Horizon 5 added its Hot Wheels expansion. There’s a whole new map to explore and a ton of content to be enjoyed. It’s been a while since I’ve played a Forza title, but after shaking the rust off, I was hooked. It was good to get behind the wheels of my favorite cars once again and tear it up on an orange plastic track.

I managed to get an early copy of Multiversus, the Smash-like fighter full of WB characters. It feels a little sluggish, but with it being free-to-play, available on a host of platforms, and pulling in a ton of licensed characters, I can see it being a hit. I’m kind of shocked it took this long for another major player to take a stab at the formula.

I’ve been dipping my toes back into Final Fantasy XIV just for the photography. After getting a lesson in posing from a friend, I was off to the races. If you want to see more of my “work,” here’s the dedicated site: https://mercuryvisions.carrd.co/

What I’m Watching

We finished up Our Flag Means Death and it ended on such a cliffhanger! I need more of this heartfelt comedy in my life! After a delay, it looks like it was finally renewed for a second season. Seriously though, if you didn’t listen to me last week, do yourself a favor and watch this show.

The Sea Beast has been my son’s latest obsession. Of the hundreds of times he’s watched it over the span of a few weeks, I’ve been able to piece it together and it’s not bad. Maybe I’m just a cynical old fuck, but it didn’t really do much for me. It’s not awful by any accounts, but it doesn’t do anything special either.
