Zero Lives: 2022/08/09
~ This chapel of ritual smells of dead human sacrifices ~
This week we had to say goodbye to our cars. They were getting on in years and mine in particular was requiring a lot of repairs and maintenance than we were comfortable with. So we planned a trip to a dealer and were very fortunate that they had a new car on the lot. We were even more fortunate that we loved it. Did you know that new cars can be connected to WiFi? We live in some crazy times.
What I’m Playing
Hooked on You: A Dead by Daylight Dating Sim - This one was a no-brainer for me. When this game was surprise launched during the Behaviour Interactive stream last week, I was giddy like a kid on Christmas. Combine Dead by Daylight with one of my favorite genres? Sign me up! I’m nearly done with my fourth playthrough and will have romanced everyone possible. It’s been a super enjoyable ride and for $10, you should give it a shot too.
What I’m Watching
Prey - We took a trip down to see my mom and acquire a new vehicle. During the course of our visit, we watched Prey, the Predator prequel. I can, without a doubt, say this is the best Predator movie that has ever been made and it’s not even close. The scenery was amazing and the action was engrossing without being over the top. It’s certainly worth burning a Hulu trial to watch.
Predator - Since watching Prey, I decided to go back and watch the original. It’s been at least a decade since I’ve seen it. Holy shit, it is awful. It embodies everything wrong with toxic masculinity and terrible 80s action movie tropes. The movie only gets tolerable when everyone but Dutch is dead and he’s left to fend off the Predator alone. But this is only the last 20ish minutes.
Breaking Bad - The wife and I have started watching Breaking Bad. She’s new to the series and I haven’t watched it since it wrapped up way back when. I’ve forgotten a lot of it, including the gorgeous backdrop of the New Mexico desert. We’ve burned through the first season and I’m just as enthralled as I was the first time. It’s just a shame that Skylar and Marie are so damned insufferable.
All must suffer as I have suffered and watch this horrific trailer for The Munsters.
