Fall is going to get here one way or another dammit! I’ve purchased a vest for the season and a few henleys. We went out to the local fall orchard/farm and got lost in a corn maze for an hour. The trees are turning. The only thing that has yet to cooperate is the temperature. We’re looking at 80s for the rest of the week when it should drop by 30 degrees minimum. The stores are on the fence regarding Halloween goodies, but we’re almost in the middle of September. If this were Christmas, every store would have had their shit up weeks ago.
The wife and I finally got around to trying the Hot Ones wings. I wanted to go with the mild blend, but after a look that questioned my integrity, we opted for the medium spice. The wings are a good size and the sauce was tasty, but it lit my fire up something fierce. I’d still like to try the mild ones, but medium and anything above is out of the question.
What I’m Playing
Destiny 2 - I think I’m going to try something new this season and make my Warlock my primary character. I’ve been on the fence about it for a while, but ultimately I’m in love with the way the Warlock behaves and I’ve been playing Titan since 2014. I’m still socially awkward with my clan and raiding is nothing but constant anxiety. But I have two clears under my belt now and have more scheduled. I was able to get nearly a full set for my Warlock and with the new Crucible shader, he looks absolutely brilliant.
Horizon Forbidden West - I finally got around to booting this up, weeks after securing my PlayStation 5. I’m still in the tutorial, but I’m committed to devoting some time to this when I’m not playing Destiny 2.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla - Technically haven’t played this yet, but I did buy it…again. I had initially purchased it on PC months ago when it finally went on sale, but could never get my Epic account to link up with my Ubisoft account. So, when Ubisoft did its conference on Saturday and everything went on sale again, I opted to buy it for the PS5. It’s installed and ready to go whenever I complete Horizon Forbidden West.
What I’m Watching
The League - When we’re not watching Breaking Bad or some slasher film, I’m trying to get my wife into The League. It’s a comedy from 2009 depicting a league of fantasy football players. As someone that has no interest in football, it was still full of humor and likable characters to get me to watch all seven seasons.
Halloween (1978) - The next stop on our spooky slasher train was the original Halloween. It wasn’t as bad as The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, but was awfully close. I’m trying to view them through the lens of them being 40 years old, but I can’t get past how bad the acting is and how ridiculous these killers are.
