Zero Lives: 2022/09/19
~ I've got to UNH UNH run away ~
Big things are happening. Well, big things in my tiny part of the world. I finally pulled the trigger on moving my domain over to Substack. After calling Blogger my home for over 14 years, I’ve decided it’s time for an upgrade. It still has the nice, simplified look I appreciated about Blogger, but has more advanced features like email, paywalls, and an integrated podcast. That’s not to say that TUA is coming back, but the option is there. Substack acts as a more central and universal hub for what I’m doing than Blogger ever could.
This shouldn’t change anything for anyone that is a current reader. It simply means the URL is changing. If you’re subscribed, it will still come via email, otherwise, you can always catch the link via Twitter. It feels like closing out one chapter of my life and the beginning of another. I’ve already made a spot for the old content that wouldn’t port over, so there’s always a backlog.
What I’m Playing
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II Beta - Call of Duty is ramping up interest for their upcoming Modern Warfare sequel. I loved the remake and while the multiplayer for Vanguard failed to grab me, I’m excited to play through the story of Task Force 141. Here’s hoping there’s no betrayal this time around.
The beta has been enjoyable enough, even if I am garbage at multiplayer. The biggest challenge came from adjusting to the PS5 controller. I REALLY like the layout of the Xbox Elite Series 2 controller and while the PS5 controller isn’t bad, it simply isn’t as comfortable to use. Add to that, the haptic feedback on the triggers was really messing with me. Fortunately, disabling that made the game a lot more enjoyable.
Roblox: Mega Mech - My boy was over again this weekend and was intent on equipping me with the most badass mech available in this game. Unfortunately, he found out that RNG was not my friend and many hours later, I still didn’t have the core components. It’s one of the better Roblox games we’ve played, but it’s clear that it preys on kids with little regard for their time.
Destiny 2 - Not a whole lot to say with this one. Raid night is becoming a regular thing with me clearing King’s Fall on both my Warlock and Titan on the same night. I’m a lot more comfortable with it and was able to nab a full set for my Titan. He’s looking rather spooky in time for Festival of the Lost.
What I’m Watching
Jurassic World Dominion - The third in the Chris Pratt trilogy is like an overstuffed turkey. There’s simply too much, it’s dry, and you’re left wondering why you sat down with it in the first place.
What I’m Reading
Batman: Court of Owls - This is an old favorite by Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo. It’s one of the best Batman stories I’ve ever read. It has Batman going up against a new foe that puts him on his back foot and really upheaves his entire world. The story-telling and artwork are topnotch for a comic and it’s such a shame that it ended the way it did in City of Owls.
The Batman Who Laughs - What if you merged Batman and Joker into one entity? That’s it. I’m just now dipping my toe into the DC Metal series, but this was a strong start, even if the whole multiverse thing was super silly thanks to pseudo-scientific explanations.
