I am in desperate need of a vacation. Fortunately, I have one coming up in less than 48 hours. The problem is that it overlaps with the bulk of games I play running their Halloween events. It’s a good enough excuse to try out GeForce Now and stream some games while on the road.

After months of dealing with the arm of my recliner being broken and having no obvious fix, I opted to cut the bastard open. Once inside, I found that it was held together by staples and glue that had outright failed. With several 2” screws, I was able to Frankenstein it back together. An upholsterer I am not, but I have a working chair once more.

I don’t want to jinx myself here, but I’m pretty sure we’re done having network issues. All of the coax has been replaced, outside and in, a new modem, and two routers (5GHz on the first was shite), and I’m still seeing random loss when streaming through OBS. Everything else appears to be working properly and I don’t get any viewers, so it is what it is.

What I’m Playing

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade - After seeing a mod for a beefy Tifa, I was reminded about how graphically impressive the Final Fantasy VII remake was. Being an absolute whore for maxing out all of my games right now, I went ahead and reinstalled it. Jumping from the 30fps on PS4 to 120fps on PC with maxed-out settings was something else. I looked through the mods and much like what I found last week with Resident Evil 2, the bulk of FF VII mods are nude mods. Gamers are in desperate need of getting laid.

Dead by Daylight - The Haunted by Daylight event kicked off and I dove in like a kid in a lake. I dropped Pyramid Head like a bad habit and swapped over to The Doctor. I noticed an immediate improvement to my win rate as he complimented my playstyle. And, as much as it pained me, I swapped from Jill Valentine to Mikaela Reid. Her witch outfit was far too good to pass up. Hunting down void energy and pumpkins while in matches has been a fun distraction.

Horizon Forbidden West - Fuck me, this game is scratching an itch. It just feels so good to play. From exploring to dropping a small herd of them, it’s sublime. I’m maybe a dozen hours in and still haven’t left the first area. I’m terrified about how big this game is going to be, especially with Gotham Knights and God of War Ragnarok coming soon.

Resident Evil 2 - So, I did find a few mods that weren’t pornographic in nature. Everyone got a fresh new skin with Leon as Hunk, Claire as Valerie, and Mr. X in an inflatable dino suit. I finally went through the side missions and really forgot what a solid game this was. It was a perfect way to spend a few hours during the Halloween season.

Anthem - I miss this game so much.

Wallpaper Engine - It’s all porn. Why is the bulk of mods and player-created content porn?

What I’m Watching

Monster House - Introduced this to the boy as it was a favorite of his sisters’ when they were younger. It still holds up and is a great scary movie for the little ones.

Bee and Puppy Cat - I’m starting to get burned out on this. A lot of the content is filler and there are only 16 episodes. There are some bigger questions that are teased, but nothing thus far. We only have two episodes left, so they better start wrapping shit up FAST.

Halloween Baking Championship - An annual favorite. It combines my love of Halloween with my wife’s love of cooking shows.
